MEIJI PERIOD SIGNED JAPANESE SATSUMA VASE A fine 19th century signed Japanese Satsuma vase with a warm, creamy crackled glaze; metiulously decorated on one side with chrysanthemums, other blossoms and foliage executed in bright, clear grass-green, red, white and eggplant enamels with a small amount of gilt highlights to foliage. The paste is fine, smooth, and close grained and of a warm creamy buff color; with untranslated mark on base in red enamel; 19th c. Meiji period; this vase is in excellent condition with very minor rubbing and discoloration to gilding on rim, no cracks, chips or damage to decoration

Note: this vase has the finest crackle glaze I have seen with excellent depth. Consignment item

FIGURIAL JAPANESE COBALT GROUND SATSUMA BEAKER FORM VASE Large figurial Japanese Satsuma vase in beaker form or trumpet vase with flaring rim, decorated with two gilt highlighted panels, the first depicting an armor clad warrior standing in front of a bamboo grove on a fine crackled ground, his shield and flag with gilt House of Satsuma style crest, the second a landscape scene depicting a bluebird flying amoung bamboo on fine crackled ground, the rim and base with slip trailed flowers on cobalt ground; the base with red unattributed character mark of potter/pottery; dates from ca 1870 to 1915

CONDITION: repaired rim chip, gilding rubbed at bottom of vase, no loss to designs

TAISHO PERIOD SATSUMA FIGURIAL SLIP TRAILED DRAGON TEAPOT A nice example of late Taisho to early Showa period Japanese figurial Satsuma; this bullet form teapot has a relief molded and slip trailed dragon at the rim that extends onto the domed lid terminating into a dragons head finial; both the handle and the spout are also in the form of a dragon; the sides are decorated with haloed Arhats on a reddish brown ground; the base is marked with an unattributed factory mark and dates from ca 1925 to ca 1935; Condition: excellent, some minor rubbing to gilt and minor scuffs to ground color, no chips or cracks
