704C

FIRE-KING JANE RAY SALAD PLATES Nice lot of 4 Fire-King Jade-ite salad plates in the Jane Ray pattern; all four plates are in good condition; unmarked [see note regarding marks below] and date from ca. 1945 - 1963; these are priced as a lot of 4.

Note regarding Fire King Marks: Since this was a long-running highly produced pattern it went through many different molds that over time acquired cumulative layers of glass until rendered useless and new molds were made. Management decisions about how the new molds should be marked were implemented. Since not all molds with particular marks wore out at the same time, for brief periods, various molds would be used at one time and oftentimes, unmarked molds were used with foil labels taking the marks place; these labels were lost or removed over time. Therefore, unmarked Fire-King is sometimes found. These pieces are no less valuable or collectible than marked pieces, and are not fakes.

Condition: one plate with tiny nick to foot-rim, one plate with tiny nick to rim edge.

This is a consignment item.

Circa: 20th c
