VICTORIAN GOLD AND STONE TELESCOPIC TOOTHPICK Dating from ca 1870s this antique Victorian telescopic toothpicks case is bright-cut engraved with alternating square and chevron designs, the end is decorated with a bezel set stone (possibly bloodstone) above a relief ball and swirl leaf design endcap. The toothpick is solid gold with the telescopic case being gold filled. This toothpick is in excellant condition, with no dents, stone is in mint condition; there are two small dark areas to gold case (on endcap and barrel)

ANTIQUE EMPIRE BRONZE FIGURIAL DOOR KNOCKER Dating from the Classical Revival or American Empire period (ca 1830-80's), this figurial antique door knocker has a center design depicting the face of a mythological Olympian god (possibly the Greek messenger god, Hermes) below a curled ribbon banner; molded in high relief the god wears a winged headdress over long curly hair; the swing bail has a center oval beaded cartouche and wheat design sides; sand cast, non-magnetic and very heavy; possibly brass, however we believe this door knocker to be bronze.

Condition: original natural brown patina with evidence of a gilt plating; Old English inscription (possibly owner's name)inscribed on ribbon banner; some pitting to surface, no foundry marks.

W. Hansen ((1892-1962); bowl comes with stand; cast by Marvin Co. (apples for decorative purposes, not included)

Oskar Hansen, born Norway and settled in Virginia; listed artist; famous for colossal winged figures on Hoover Dam

Antique Nutmeg Grater - 19th c. Not an unusual find but makes a great inexpensive decorative kitchen item! This little tin nutmeg grater dates from the middle to latter part of the 19th c; it has a small compartment at the top with a flip-up lid for storage of nutmegs.

Condition: very good; overall darkening of tin but otherwise intact with no dents or cracks in metal; very minor rust spots around some grate holes.
Circa: Mid to late 19th c.
