A delightful pair of Chinese Canton painted enamel vases made for the export market; of meiping form on rich turquoise ground with highly detailed handpainted scroll and flower motifs in rose pink, yellow and white; each vase with two scenes (one per side), a floral and butterfly scene and a floral and bird scene, all enclosed within scrolling cartouches, the interior in white ground; dates from Late Qing dynasty or late 19th c. to about 1920; unmarked. This pair of vases would make lovely table lamps!
Condition: both vases in excellent condition; no loss to enamels, no dents, some very minor staining to interior white enamel
