A finely decorated early 19th c. porcelain sparrow beaked hot milk jug, the sides with handpainted landscape scene and scattered flowers in pale lemmon yellow and orche enamels; the loop handle and rim with gilt scrollwork; the lid with gilt scrollwork and sprigged leaves in shaded green enamel, pear-form finial; Condition: finial has been reglued
MARKS; base with blue beehive Vienna Factory mark (Imperial and Royal Porcelain Manufactory, Vienna), impressed molders/turners mark; red decorators number; dates from ca. 1812 - 1818 |
