Size: frame: 6 ins wide / bag is 5 ins top of frame to bag bottom
A very nice German 800 silver metal mesh purse; the body is made of extremely fine hand soldered silver mesh and is attached to the frame with silver wire; the frame is ornately hand engraved with scrolling flowers and leaves and a silver link carry chain. Frame is hallmarked (inside) with 800 fineness mark and the German state crescent moon and crown hallmark with an unattributed makers mark; dates after ca 1884. The bag is in excellant condition; two small areas at hinges where mesh is unattached from frame; silver mesh has tarnished |
