A nice example of late Taisho to early Showa period Japanese figurial Satsuma; this bullet form teapot has a relief molded and slip trailed dragon at the rim that extends onto the domed lid terminating into a dragons head finial; both the handle and the spout are also in the form of a dragon; the sides are decorated with haloed Arhats on a reddish brown ground; the base is marked with an unattributed factory mark and dates from ca 1925 to ca 1935; Condition: excellent, some minor rubbing to gilt and minor scuffs to ground color, no chips or cracks |
