This is a unique early German Secessionist Movement silverplated tea strainer by the famous WMF factory. These early WMF pieces are uncommon and highly sought after.This strainer has a swing style tea basket suspended over a spouted bowl with a straight Ebony wood handle; bears the early Ostrich WMF hallmark of the German factory Wurttembergische Metallwaren Fabrik that supplied haute fashion conscious households of 1900 with a vast range of Art Nouveau (Jugendstil),Classical and Art Deco silver plate and metal ware items.
