An outstanding vintage STERLING SILVER spring loaded CLAMPER STYLE CUFF BRACELET DESIGNED BY MEXICAN ARTIST ALFREDO VILLASANA. Villasana worked for both William Spratling and Hector Aguilar during the golden age of Taxco silver jewelry production. Villasana was highly skilled at repousse work as this bracelet attest to with its' striking open scroll work design. The bracelet is signed Villasana, sterling, 925, Hecho en Mexico, and has the delineated Eagle mark for ca 1948-55. Signed Taxco jewelry pieces are treasured both for their original designs as well as the outstanding craftsmanship and have steadily increased in value over the years.
Condition: Fine condition, spring hinge in perfect working condition, two small dents. |
