This is an antique Victorian silver metal (possibly German Silver) chatelaine vanity case with an alternating striped design and small cartouche for initials (none present); the inside of the case is fitted with a latching mirrored door on one side that was designed to hold coins and cash the other side possibly calling cards. This chatelaine case is in good condition, no chips to mirror, inside of case has dark residue from paper clip (?), outside of case has some minor wear to edges; unmarked. |
