This is a very decorative antique English green glazed Edge Malkin majolica low compote (taza). The rim is decorated with a bead and Greek Key pattern with a raised leaf, fern and flower design on a stippled center ground; it rests on a circular base with bead and flute design. In mint condition, there is some minor glaze crazing, and one glaze pop in center; the underside has 3 stilt marks; no chips or cracks. Base has the impressed Edge, Malkin and Co. mark, dates from 1870-1902 |
